bits and bobs

Do you know what I did after work last night? I enjoyed a nice glass of wine and ate half a box of BBQ Shapes.** Why? Well, I was celebrating the fact that one day I will no longer work for the place I'm currently working for. No, I haven't found new work yet, but ONE DAY I will, and it will be a very happy day indeed. I'm trying to stay positive, you see. Do you know what work did? They took away our coffee and tea. We only have hot water now. I'm not sure if it's cost cutting or just punishing us for not keeping the communal kitchen clean, but either way it's pretty shit. The only highlight of my work day, my 1.30pm cup of tea, is now gone. Thanks. (Yes, I know I can bring my own, but it's the principle of it.)
They also cleaned out the fridge before lunch and threw everyone's lunches away. Before lunch. My team leader also looked at my results sheet yesterday and rolled his eyes. Yip, like a teenager. Not at all professional, especially since my lack of results was due to wrong numbers and disconnected numbers, and not me being bad at my job. In fact, by the end of the day I had the best results out of my whole team.

If you're on Facebook, you'll have seen that the Sydney Vegan Bakesale went fantastically well. We made $940, all of which was donated to Edgar's Mission in Queensland. At least, I think it's in QLD, I still get very confused about Australian states. I need a reference map, ideally one with all the time zones on it. Back to the bake sale: I made coconut lime cookies and they were delicious. I also supported the bake sale by buying cupcakes! How could I not, with varieties like tiramisu, banana split, lemon gem and cookies n' cream? Vegan cupcakes represent! Next time I will get in on the cupcake-making action and make coconut dream cupcakes. I made them for my birthday back in Feb, they were so good.

Also, a small mention of Edgar Allan Pig, the first animal to be rescued by Edgar Mission (and who effectively got the mission started.) Edgar passed away last week. You can see the mission's tribute to Edgar here, but be warned, if you're an animal lover like me, you'll probably end up crying into your coffee. I wish I had gotten to meet him, he sounded like the most awesome pig who taught many many silly humans about compassion for animals and our capacity to do good.
RIP Edgar.
