back in the blogosphere

After an embarrassingly long absence, I'm back in the blogging 'hood!
Excuses? Either I'm too busy to blog, or doing nothing worth sharing. It's hard to find a happy medium. I tend to drift back to blogging when I changes are a'coming, and hey, guess what, things will be changing in a couple of months. My job at WSPA ends, and I'll be returning to study in either Auckland or Sydney. I've applied to the Uni of Auckland and to UTS in Sydney and will hear back in December or January. The key word here is 'or'. There is no specific date, it could be any time between now and late Jan or even Feb. Patience has never been a virtue of mine, so these will be interesting times. French class, the one constant this year, will also finish in three weeks. I'll be quite desolate without it. Every Monday and Wednesday evening since early January this year I've have French at the Alliance. I think I have missed three classes only, and it's been 48 straight weeks of class with the same inspiring and remarkably enthusiastic teacher and a small but amazing core group of students. Emily, Steve, Ben and I have all been there since level one, and hot electrician and Emma have been with us since level 4.

Right, a few pictures are needed to atone for my writing absence. First off, say hello to Mr Pelican. We met at the Avoca Beach rock pools. He likes fish and fishermen.

I think I might retire to Avoca Beach - that's how much I enjoyed visiting there. It's only a 90-min train ride from Sydney, it's not touristy at all and it has such a beautiful beach. You can just see the beach in this picture.
and those rock pools and cliffs ...

And, that's it for today.
