Is $74 too much to spend on 4 cds? Who cares if it is! The money came from one of my bank accounts that I tried to close yesterday, and it was money I didn't know was there, therefore it's bonus money! I say "tried to close" because I tried and failed. Apparently, I was not allowed to close my own bank account. After 3 harried phonecalls and summoning the only English speaker at the bank, all I could get out of them was "bank account close? No. Why? No." So I just withdrew all my money, and gave them my bank card and bank book.
I used my money to buy 4 Nell CDs. Nell are my favourite Korean band, I listen to them constantly, and I figured that since I love them so much, I should pay for their music instead of just downloading it. I do download a lot of music here, but if it's a band I truly adore (Coldplay, David Gray, and all NZ music) then I feel I ought to support them and buy their CDs.

I also used my bonus money to pay for my two new necklaces that Hyun-Joo made. She is one of the top metal-workers in the country, and she just happens to also be Josh's girlfriend. So I ordered two necklaces and she designed them and made them by hand! One has my name in English, the other has it in Korean! Here is the Korean one:

We met with Hyun-Joo and Josh today for (a) early birthday drinks for me and (b) farewell drinks. We first went to the Gustav Klimt exhibition and then for Mexican food. I have the most amazing picture from outside the museum, but it's on Tynessa's camera, so you'll just have to wait.
I hate goodbyes. Met up with Judy from my old job yesterday in Gangnam to say goodbye, and then on Thursday I am meeting Allie and Joon (fantastic women who run and finance the cat shelter from their own pockets) for lunch and then April (ex-student) for dinner, and then I'm meeting my closest Korean friend Jasmin for dinner on Saturday. I'm also really hoping to visit the 63 building before I leave, but that's dependent on clear skies and on how panicked I am come Saturday.

Pippi has arrived safe and sound in NZ and is chilling out at the quarantine facility. The manager at the quarantine place said Pippi was very vocal when she arrived, which doesn't surprise me at all! I will go visit her on Monday as soon as I get off the plane. I had a mega attack of the guilts on Monday watching her being driven away in her big crate, stressing out about how confused and afraid she would be on the plane, so I am so pleased to know that she arrived safely.

Also, 5 DAYS!
Here are some random pics from the last few days.

picture two: I have no self-control and also no shame. haha. related story: a student from a class I don't even teach came up to me today and said "I know you! You love Daniel Henney!". Why yes, I do! Then we talked about Daniel Henney. It was good.
