this is possibly the longest time I've gone without blogging, and I don't even have a good excuse! I just haven't felt like blogging... but now we're ten days into 2009, and I feel like I owe you an update.
Let's see... I had one of my wisdom teeth taken/pulled out yesterday, and wow, it was amazingly pain-free. You know me, I'm a worrier, and I had been worrying big time about the procedure. Luckily, I'd asked the dentist for anti-anxiety meds, so by the time my 2.30pm appointment rolled around, I'd taken 3 Valium and was not as big a mess as I would have normally been. Yay for Valium! after my 2 anesthesia shots (my instructions to the dentist were "give me as much as you possibly can"), I had to wait around for about 20 mins, and then the dentist fiddled around in my mouth and then suddenly he was finished, and I was very surprised because I thought he hadn't started yet! and how much did it cost me? drugs and tooth extraction.. wait for it...... a whole $16! back in NZ it would have been at least 3 or 4 times the cost. in two weeks time, two more are being extracted. Again, yay for Valium!
I am now less than a month away from leaving, so I've been slowly selling all the stuff I don't want to cart back to NZ with me. I know I'm selling things a little prematurely, but I'd rather sell them too early than be stuck with stuff I'm not able to sell. And that's why I now have no plates, cups, bowls or cutlery! I sold it all today! oops! plastic bowls and cutlery for the next month!
I mentioned a few posts back about nearly getting arrested at the Comfort Women protest on the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Well here's a video of our protest made by my friend Malcolm from AI, and a news article about the event written by another Amnesty alumnus, Michael.
I just bought Nell's new limited edition DVD set!! and it has 4 new songs, my favourite is this one.
Lastly, for those of you who saw my rather cryptic Facebook post about a possible move to another country that's not NZ... well, I'll leave you with two clues: the Philippines AND Project Lifecycle.
PS: i can never remember how to spell 'the Philippines". it's only correct here because of Blogger's spell check. far too many Ps and Ls and Ns.
