My new cookbook has arrived! (or should I say, "Dreena's new cookbook arrived today", since I didn't write it?!) I've already made 3 things from it. I think I may be addicted to cookbooks.

Also, isn't "ExtraVeganZa" the best title for a vegan cookbook? me being the dunce that I am, it took me a few minutes to get it, as I was reading it extra-vegan-za, and thinking "what the hell is a za", but once i got it, i spent a good few minutes chuckling away. I maintain that being so easily amused is a good thing.

So: concert update: disaster. We thought that getting those text message invitations guaranteed us tickets, and so excitedly, we made our way to the concert venue, only to be greeted by the longest line ever. Still, we were hopeful, because we had our tickets. of course we were going to see the show! Tickets = show, right? Wrong. It turns out that EVERYONE who entered the competition got tickets, and that it was a first come, first serve thing. By the time we got there (7pm for a 10pm start) the venue was full, and there was not a darn thing we could do about it. I was so angry and disappointed! I had been so geared up to see Nell, and I'd paid another teacher to cover my classes, and then it didn't happen. To placate the disappointed masses, the organisers gave out free pens. FREE PENS! Like a free pen is going to make me feel better! I then proceeeded to act like a 3 year old, repeatedly refusing the pen he kept offering. (seriously, he tried to give me that darn pen 5 times, and i refused it 5 times). And then I stomped off in a really bad mood. )
And that's the story of the concert that never was. Let's not talk about it any more.
