50 working days left! this can also be read as "50 days of teaching incompetant rude children".
Today has not been a good school day. All my classes were acting up today, and then I would get angry, and then they would play up even more. Result = me stomping around in a foul mood. and of course = comfort eating. yummm.. cinnamon and walnut bagel from the sandwich place.
The worst thing is not being able to be sarcastic to the kids, because they wouldnt understand it. not that that stops me though, I still say sarcastic things, and then giggle away to myself, marvelling at my own wit. Correction, the worst thing is not be able to do anything about the naughty kids, because their high fee-paying parents refuse to believe that their little darlings could be anything but amazing.
OMG I had one student today who just refused to talk. and sometimes that doesnt bug me. fine, sit in the corner and don't talk. one less student to have to discipline. but this kid was SMIRKING at me the whole time, and then speaking Korean (number one no-no at school) and not talking English even when asked direct questions, and SMIRKING, daring me to do something. and then i stood on the same piece of gum with both my shoes, hence the cinnamon bagel.

what about corporal punishment, or do they have anti-smacking laws there too?! a smack across the knuckles might do it! especially if it leaves marks, then he will have to explain how he got them... how about a note to the principal? tell him to tell the child's parents he is no longer welcome in your class? give out sweets to the good ones...

yes, corporal punishment but these kids get whipped badly enough at public school, so I'd never want that. And the director of the school would never do anything that might mean a kid drops out because that would mean less money. and its ALL ABOUT THE MONEY not the kids learning.
