google earth rocks! i zoomed right in on Osan, i could see buildings and cars. of course, i dont know what those buildings are, or anything much about Osan, but it was fun. I should be getting my teaching contract next week, and hopefully I'll find out about my flights soon. I fly out of Auckland.
I hope my accomodation will be ok.... it will be a bedsit sort of thing, separate bathroom, 2-ring gas cooker, and (please, please, please, cross all your fingers and toes) air conditioning. I'm starting to get a bit paranoid about the thought of living alone. i managed fine when i was house-sitting, but i cant help but wonder how easy it would be for crazy people to snatch me off the streets of Osan, I'll hardly know anyone there, and I'll be easy to spot bc i'm white, and female, and alone. Mind you, i am known to worry unnecessarily. i've started sleeping with my radio on loudly every night, to scare potential intruders away. and also so that i dont hear anything that will frighten me. and last night, i slept with the light on all night, bc I was convinced i heard someone outside my room, and it wasnt the first time i've done that. dont laugh! these fears are perfectly rational, people get attacked all the time. it is good to be aware of your personal safety! if i had pots of money, i would employ a security guard. but then i'd feel bad bc how boring would that be for them? and they themselves could be attacked. so then i thought about a robotic version. but theives and psychos are clever, they could probably disarm it. so then i thought about dogs, but dogs can be shot or poisoned. ideally i'd like security bars on the windows and doors, like we had in South Africa, but no-one here has them. hmmm, i think i spend far too much time thinking about this.

INGRID! Stop now! Just be safe and sensible and you'll be fine, being totally paranoid is NOT the right idea! Fool.
