I’ve heard that there are
people out there who enjoy having their photograph taken. I am most definitely NOT one of those
people. Which begs the question: why did
I agree to take part in a photography project for a friend, one that is now on
show?
A friend of a friend is a
photographer and she needed subjects for her project on compassion
fatigue. I like helping people (= I
have problems saying no to people when they ask for help) so I went along one
evening to watch a rather harrowing video over and over, about 15 times, all
the while being filmed. And since that was last year, I had forgotten
all about it until an email inviting me to the opening popped into my inbox
last week. And holy moly, my picture is
on the exhibition poster. I got a
massive fright.
Here it is:
I missed opening night, but I'm hoping to head along today for a look. I imagine it will be quite strange, seeing myself in print on a wall in a gallery.
You can read more about the exhibition here, and if you look very carefully you'll find the most hilarious photo of me pulling a rather unflattering face.
