friday update

Friday! thank goodness. Even though this was a short week (Queen's birthday in Oz is celebrated a week after NZ), it felt like it was taking forever. Work is going well: boring but nice and stress free. It's a 6-8 week contract, with the possibility of extension, so I do hope they have more work for me.

I finish house-sitting this week and am quite looking forward to being back at HOV (House of Vegan.) It's been good getting away and having a whole apartment to myself, but I've missed all my cooking ingredients and my walk into work. The place I'm house-sitting at is quite a bit further from work so I've been catching the train. I didn't realise how much I missed train rides. I used to catch the subway almost every day in Korea. I loved catching it in winter: sitting huddled up and squished in on heated seats, listening to music and half falling asleep. Some of the Sydney trains don't announce stations though, and I've come close to missing my stop.
Sydney Vegan Bake Sale is next week, and we've been doing a lot of postering and promoting. I was in charge of postering Newtown so I wandered around last week and put posters up in all the vegan-friendly shops. Mandee got a wee article about the bake sale written on a local inner-west suburb blog, and Sharon's also blogged about it on her vegeroo site. I hope we'll have enough stuff to sell! My supervisor Susie is kindly making us cupcakes to sell, an especially sweet thing to do considering she's not even vegan.
anyway, so that's what I've been up to this past week.
