yay! highspeed internet at last, thanks to the tourist haven of Boracay! I'm here to extend my visa. a surprise national holiday has meant that we've had to extend our stay by one day, and then our love of lying on the beach has meant another day extension! I don't feel to bad about being away from Sugod because Malcolm and Steve are super busy with the first week of teaching, and my computer has died, so there isn't much I can do at the moment anyway. We got here on Friday afternoon after our 15 min tricyle drive to San Agustin, our 2 hour jeepney drive to Lo'oc, our 2.5 hour boat ride to Cataclan, and then a final 5 min boat ride to Boracay.

Boracay has been a welcome respite from Sugod, we have hot running water here! and no brown-outs, and we haven't eaten rice once! for me, the best part has been not being woken up by roosters early in the morning. Having said that, Boracay is too touristy and I am looking forward to heading back to Sugod to see my host family.
