goodbyes

Thank you note from a student:

To Ingrid. I couldn't tell half of what I want to say you. Because I couldn't express my thinking well in English, especially in speaking English. I wanted to talk with you many things. But I didn't. I'm grateful for you. First day I was really nervous. I didn't know how to speak English naturally. To speak English was hard to me. But in your class, I learned about speaking English that don't afraid of making mistakes. I always thought that your eyes color is beautiful!! And I like your smile. It likes a sunflower. Sometimes I heard your voice in my mind. For example "Good job!" (I don't know the reason) You also like lively person everyday. It makes met that I enjoyed myself in your class. And good luck from Korea!!!! PS I bag you to understand my wrong sentences. From Lina.

AAWWWW! How cute! Korean students are so lovely and sweet and earnest! I won't miss my boss, but I will miss the students.

I met up with Allie and Joon yesterday to say goodbye, they are the fantastic ladies who run the cat shelter. We met for Indian food in Itaewon.

I later met April, a former student, for dinner, we had Moroccan. She is such a sweety. She's so nervous about her English, but we chatted away all night, it was great.

Here are my boxes of stuff at the post office. Not bad, considering I've been here for a while.

And here is Thu and I, with the Seoul Women's Migrant Human Rights Centre banner in the background.
