Isn't this the coolest bento box? While I'd love to say I made it, it came from www.justbento.com
Look at the detail! I love the pumpkins made out of carrots, and Hello Kitty's creepy eyes.

Remember how when you were in primary school and you saw your teacher out of school, and it was the most exciting thing? it's funny being on the other end of that. I sometimes feel like my students are on "Ingrid Watch", seeing how often they can spy on me outside of class, except its not so secret because then the next day they report back to me (with glee) about all the places they saw me. "Teacher, yesterday I saw you outside with SHORTS on! why? shorts? why?"
and "Teacher, yesterday I saw you on the subway with another teacher! why? where were you going? don't you live in Weidae? why were you on the train returning to Weidae?"
they're often quite surprised that we have lives outside the office. it's cute!
Today at Starbucks, the girl in front of me in line also ordered a soy coffee, very surprising. I never ever see people here ordering soy coffees. and then, later on when I was waiting at to cross at the intersection, that same girl was there with her coffee, holding a bag which said "Asia for Animals" and so of course I had to introduce myself. Turns out she's vegan too, Korean, studied in Aussie, and is very much an animal rights advocate. Cool, hey?! So I told her all about the Seoul Veggie Club, and we exchanged details.
I also stopped a complete stranger yesterday and showed them photos of Pippi. Don't worry, there is more to the story. This stranger was carrying her cat, and the cat was dressed in a bumble-bee costume, so I HAD to stop and make conversation. hey, I'm just doing my part to keep the "strange foreigner" idea going.
** a quick thanks to the people who agreed to help me with Home&Life, six people so far, which means we'll be sending somewhere between $50 and $60 a month! you guys rock! and if anyone else in interested, flick me an email. **
