Gosh it's cold today, and rainy too. all the more reason not to go to the gym! my motivational sticker chart is looking good (every time i go to the gym I put a sticker on), so I don't feel too guilty about not going. whoever said stickers are only for little kids?
Hmm, i think i should put my ondol heating on.
I am waiting anxiously to receive a text message telling me I've won tickets to see Nell, my favourite Korean band. While running around the university campus a little drunk yesterday (soju was necessary to stop myself from strangling my students on the stupid flea market day), I happened to spot a poster advertising a "secret Nell concert". my students helped me translate it and entered me into the competition. I'll find out tomorrow morning if I can go. even the location is secret! how fun! Here's one of my fav songs for you to listen to. I only just found this version with English lyrics, but I've loved their music for a long time, based solely on the melodies. in fact, I think I prefer not knowing what they're saying.
I'm going to a veggie/vegan Thanksgiving dinner this weekend! It's all the way in Pyeongchon though, which is probably about an hour away from here by subway. I put helpful little arrows on the subway map below, so please click on the picture to see where I am and where I'm going!
So now I have to decide what to take along. It has to be something suitably impressive, because I have a reputation to maintain. In the past, I've taken awesome things to veggie club events, so everyone there thinks I'm a great cook. hah! only for special occasions!ooh, speaking of vegan cooking, I've bought myself an early Xmas present: Dreena Burton's Viva le Vegan. it should arrive sometime next week. I subscribe to her blog, and already own her latest cookbook, Eat, Drink and be Vegan, and I love her recipes.
