stuck between a rock and a hard place.

so this is where it's at:
Friday is our last day of school, and then we get 5 weeks off. good, right? no. because on Friday, the 3 new teachers, (Tyson, Joe, and I) will find out whether school is keeping us, and a few other teachers whose contracts are up will find out if they're wanted for another year. Because we're new teachers, our first semester is a probationary period. Now before this week, none of us had any reason to think we wouldn't be coming back. But our boss, ever the unprofessional, has been skulking around office, asking teachers weird questions about how to fire people and why we left our previous jobs, and making us all incredibly wary and nervous. So I'll find out my working fate on Friday afternoon and leave for Thailand at 4.30am the next day. and they refuse to tell us any earlier, so we're stuck in this really awkward place, not knowing whats going to happen, and not with no time to look for other jobs.
I can't see any legitimate reason for firing anyone. Apparently, this is the best group of teachers they've had in a while. We're all hard-working, dedicated, and polite and respectful towards the students. (there have been teachers fired because of inappropriate behaviour like looking down students' tops, etc etc) But none of us have ever even been pulled over by crazy-boss for anything! and it could be than none of us will get fired, she could just be messing with our heads. But it all makes for a very unsettled and unhappy staff. Jeez, I had nightmares about it on Saturday night, and woke up about 6 times during the night in a panic. and the thing is, our boss can get away this behaviour, because there will always be more teachers to hire, and she's not going to change her personality or her awful management style.
maybe i'll just stay in Thailand and never come back.
If i do get fired, i don't know what i'd do. Ideally, I'd just go home to NZ and that would be the end of my Korea chapter. But I've got Pippi, who isn't yet ready to travel back to NZ, and i wouldn't have the finances to travel back and bring Pippi back. and I know I could leave her here, but who with? I'd feel so guilty. I rescued her from the street and have always looked forward to the day where she can come back to NZ, and be an outside cat, and play in the grass and chase things.

aahggggghhhhhhhh crazy boss I hate you! why are you putting me through this nightmare of stress. aggghhh Korea and your terrible treatment of foreigners and locals alike, why do you have to be like this? There seems to be no concept of "treat your staff members well and they'll do well"
the only thing I can say for certain is that I won't be here for my next birthday.
