update

So Seoul was great, but so strange to see someone from Uni here in Korea, very surreal. Poor Charles, I just talked for about 3 hours straight, about living in Korea, people in Korea, food in Korea, everything under the sun about Korea. Because he was here with MFAT, and therefore seeing a very 'clean' and official side of Korea, I felt like I had to share every story and anecdote I had, so that he could hear about the 'real' Korea. And I made him catch the subway instead of a fancy-pants Embassy car too. I LOVE the subway, the novelty still hasn't worn off, even after 8 months. And its not like the dirty London subway, that Nina said had rats and mice scurrying around the tracks. Korea's subways are very very clean, with gentle piano music playing over the loudspeakers.
What else.....
oh yes, Ana and I have signed up for the Daegu 5km run which is in a months time... should be fun, and hopefully quite easy, since we've been training for quite a while.
We're going to run in costume too, I mean, people are going to stare at us anyway, we might as well put on a good show. I'm face-paint and fairy wings... or day-glow shorts and tops.... with leg warmers!!

yesterday was White Day, another Valentine's Day event, except on White Day, girls give guys presents instead of the other way around.... did I tell you all about the upcoming Black Day? single women eat black noodle soup for good luck, to bring them a husband. because god forbid one is a single woman in the late 20s or early 30s....... social pariahs. ahhh, Korea.
