well here goes.....

... and to think I always mocked those people who blogged.... and I stick to the mantra that this doesnt make me a geek! (whatever - I do work for ITS at uni, who am I kidding!)

The main reason for this blog is so that I can keep people up to date with what I'm up to in Korea. Yes, I know, I only leave in Jan/Feb/March (depending on when I get my thesis done) but there is no harm in starting early. Why Korea? Why not. I haven't been successful in finding a job, and I don't want to settle for just any job. By going to Korea and teaching English I can 1) learn Korean so that MFAT hire me when I get back, 2) earn lots of money and pay off as much off my student loan as possible, and 3) experience living overseas in a country with a very different culture.

For those of you who I haven't been in contact with recently, I am currently living down south in Dunedin, studying towards my Masters (wow, sounds scary) which is due at the end of Feb 2006. Ideally I'd like to hand it in earlier and head off to Korea ASAP, but if you know me well you'll know that time management isn't my strong point! I am looking forward to getting out of Dunedin, 5 years here is enough. There is only so much of cold, damp houses and freezing winters one can take.
